J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. has appointed Jeff Zajkowski as head of equity capital markets for the Asian-Pacific region, a person familiar with the situation said Thursday, as part of efforts to add more senior resources in Asia, where the bank expects sustainable growth.
Kester Ng, chairman of Asia equity capital markets, and Doug Howland, head of Japan equity capital markets, previously shared that position.
Messrs. Ng and Howland will report to Zajkowski, who moved to Hong Kong from New York in January.
Ng will focus his efforts on the bank's Greater China equity capital market franchise, currently the largest business in the region and also the single biggest opportunity across Asian-Pacific capital markets, the person said.
Zajkowski joined J.P. Morgan in New York in 2002. He will report to London-based Viswas Raghavan, head of global equity capital markets.
